Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire (February 27, 2010 (February 27, 2010) Toronto ON). Pointe Claire is a small town located on the West Island, which is part of the Montreal island. Many people unfamiliar with the word tend to think there is a separate island west of Montreal however, it's a part of the city that's west. West Island is home to all things from Lachine west to the city of Lachine west. It is often cited as being the place of birth for Amanda Brugel but while that is true, her stay there was short. Brugel was raised on Courtice located just outside Oshawa located in Ontario. Her initial ambition was to become an actress, However, following a dramatic growth spurt her partners were no longer able to dance along with her. An article in the Toronto Star article revealed she's 6 feet 1 inch tall and has heels. When I grew out of male companions, that's when I gave up. A lot of former dancers go on to act. In the case of Brugel it was the guidance from her drama teacher at high school that led her to take the step she wanted. A teacher suggested that she audition for an annual school production. She auditioned and was eventually cast as the lead of Anne of Green Gables. This led to an Fine Arts Talent Scholarship at York University where she attended the Theater Program and earned an Associate in Fine Arts degree in 2000. The career of Brugel spans more than 20 years and she has performed in more than 60 shows including big screen productions and on smaller ones. Her most recognizable role was that of Rita (pictured beneath) in the television show The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was only seen on a few instances in the initial season of The Handmaid's Tale. She was the only Canadian actor.
